We are asking each family to donate just THREE HOURS of volunteer time during the school year.
Become an officer – it’s much easier than you think!
We are currently seeking nominations for officer positions for the coming year. We have no nominations for Vice President or Secretary. These are great positions to get involved with. Think about it. Nominations are due next week – April 10th.
- Vice President : Acts as aide to the president, performs the duties of the president in the president’s absence or inability to serve
- Secretary: Records the minutes of all meetings of the PTA, maintains all minutes and agendas in a binder, writes “Thank you” notes for donations received outside of specific fundraisers, writes correspondence as necessary, maintains a current copy of the bylaws (bylaws approved by the state within the last three (3) years are considered current)
Want to volunteer but not sure what would be the best fit for you?
Come to the next PTA meeting or contact us to learn what’s coming up and opportunities to help. Even a half hour of your time now and then would be greatly appreciated!
Become a Coordinator
- Rewards Coordinator We earn thousands of dollars every year in money and in useful items for our school. Ongoing encouragement and education helps us out. We all love free money. The Rewards programs include: Box Tops for Education, Labels for Education, My Coke Rewards for Schools, Tyson Project A+, Price Chopper Tools for Schools, Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards and Big Y Education Express. Duties include: Sorting, organizing and submission to various programs, Execution of rewards for winning classroom or grade level, redeeming points and more.
- Classroom Parent Coordinator We would like to have 2 classroom parents in each grade to assist with volunteers or projects the teacher identifies, and to help communicate more effectively with parents. We need a Coordinator to help organize this piece.
- Teacher Services Coordinator We appreciate the Teachers and all the work they do everyday for our children. The coordinator would oversee teacher appreciating events.
- Communications Co-Coordinator Our PTA sends out bi-weekly newsletters (Mail Chimp), has a website(WordPress), a Facebook page, and communicates with the community. There are many pieces to coordinate. If you are savvy with communications, become a co-coordinator and help us continue to communicate about the PTA offerings.
- Membership Coordinator We currently have over 100 members. In the fall everyone needs to sign up again. In addition to keeping records, there are membership benefits for all. Help in the process.
- Winter Wonderland Committee Chair The past few years the PTA has had a hot cocoa bar and bake sale and a make your own craft at Great Barrington’s Holiday Stroll in December.
There’s More… Additionally, we need help with Welcome Back Ice Cream Social, Annul Kindergarten Potluck (September), Movie Nights, Family Game Nights, Holiday Craft Workshops, Mud Day, Family Dance, Bulletin Board, School Committee Liaison, Teacher Appreciation Week, Fourth Grade Moving- Up Ceremony, Student Directory, and more
Interested? Only have a little time to spare?
