The Muddy Brook Elementary PTA strives to provide informative meetings for parents and caregivers, sponsor events to benefit our community, and provide support for education through the work of various committees.  The involvement of our families creates an enriching environment for students by showing that education matters.  ANYONE is welcome to become a member.  Membership dues are $5.00 for the year, per family.  $3.50 goes to the National PTA with the remaining $1.50 going to our PTA.  You do not need to be a PTA member to attend the meetings or volunteer, just to vote.   We hope you will choose to be an active participant in the Muddy Brook Parent Teacher Association.  You can join The PTA at our meetings and our first meeting is September 10th, 7-8pm at The School.  There will also be a registration table at the Ice Cream Social from 6-7pm on the 4th and a form will also go home with students in September.

Please read over the description of events and committees sponsored by the PTA and select all those that interest you.  The school spirit you share by volunteering will help you to meet new people and learn ways to enhance your child’s education.  It means so much to our children to see outside adult involvement in their school.  Any amount of time you are willing to give will make each event and committee a success.  Many hands make light work - we will not call on anyone to do everything.  If you check something and are not available when we call, we completely understand.  Again, you do not need to be a PTA member to be actively involved in any school activities.  What are you good at?  Where could you enhance our School?  If you don’t see something here that you think we could use, write it in!

_ Family Fun Events    Help to develop ideas to bring new family events to Muddy Brook. Sundae night, game nights, field days or carnivals are just a few ideas we have so far. Help us start something new!!
_ Communication    Look at ways to link information to families to build a home and school connection.  Help with the School Directory, PTA bulletin board or our upcoming PTA Website!
_ Craft Fair    Help with organizing and working at our craft fair in October
_ Fundraising    Assist with fundraisers throughout the year.   Everything from the Gift Wrap and Catherine’s Chocolates fundraisers to the 50/50 raffles at concerts.
_ Parent Education    Help plan parent education evenings. Find speakers,  come up with ideas for supporting our families in areas of parenting and relating with our children
_ Dance Committee    Help with organizing the dance in the spring
_ Mother-Son Olympics     Help  with organizing the event in the spring
_ Library    May help with library duties, help out at book fairs, organize and maintain the book closets
_ Membership    Help organize PTA membership information.
_ Newsletter    Help with article gathering, writing, editing, and printing of the newsletter
_ *Silent Auction Committee*    Assist with our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year!  Will be online this year!
_ Project  Green Committee     Help put together a new PTA committee to work with the school’s existing recycling & reducing waste program.  Put your Green ideas to work for our School!
_ Room Parent    Help classroom teacher when needed to organize class events.  Occasionally help get food donations from other classroom parents for the Teacher’s staff meetings for our ‘Food for Thought’ program.
